In Memory of Russ Hughes

Following the sad news that Russ had passed away at home on the evening of the 6th of November 2024, all of us at A1 Motorcycles, where he had worked for over 10 years, are saddened and reflecting on our time working with Russ.

I had the pleasure of working with Russ for 2 years since taking over A1 Motorcycles, where he had worked alongside Tony. Russ was an asset to the company due to his extensive knowledge and abilities related to everything motorcycle-related.

Russ was a quiet character but someone with a wealth of knowledge on many subjects, and I often enjoyed a chat on everything from bikes to our shared love of rock bands. On reflection, Russ was a hidden gem; he could discuss any subject in detail, not just motorcycles. In fact, his ability to discuss any topic was astounding, and I will miss the weekly chats a lot, as his opinions and suggestions were a great help with the business.

He was a traditional man and was always reliable, willing to go the extra mile, always there to provide customers with a friendly face and advice, no matter what.

Everyone at A1 Motorcycles would like to express our condolences for this tragic loss of both a valued friend and colleague. Russ was not only a member of staff; he was the foundation that our business was built upon.

Tony, Rick, and I would like to add an additional closing note:

Russ, you will be severely missed by everyone at A1 Motorcycles, as well as our customers, as you brought stability and grounding to all of us, and a day won't pass by without walking past your workbench and remembering a great man....

Russ's funeral will take place on Thursday, 28th November, at Northop Crematorium at 1 pm, for those wishing to pay respects to Russ and his family.
