BSB at Cadwell Park
Cadwell was the first time that Joel rode in the National Superstock 1000cc Championship and the first time he raced the new 08 Fireblade (Photo below), it was a good weekend in all for the team gaining experience and knoledge of the bike, Joel had been to a track day earlier in the week at Oulton Park, he rode well hovering around 20th position all weekend, a small error in practice seen him come off the blade but only cracking the screen he was soon back out on track. In the race Joel started 25th and work his way up to 22nd though with a few laps to go he came in with some handling problems, this was an excellent attempt at beat some of the huge stars of the BSB padock and some of the factory race teams, we are looking foward now to our next race, be it another BSB round or the Anglsey Grand.

Comfirmation that Joel will be riding his new Fireblade at Cadwell Park in the National Superstock 1000 championship at the end of August, mean while he did a one off round in the Wirral Hundred championship at the Anglesey circuit finishing 1st on Saterday and 2 x 2nd places on the Sunday, it was a good weekend for the team being able to test in the hot weather and what would end up being the final event that they would use the 600cc Suzuki machiene, now we just have to wait for Cadwell, there is also alot of work going into looking for sponsorship for next year, if anyone has any ideas for sponsors please e-mail us on sales@a1motorcycles.co.uk

Joel finished the July Oulton Park round in 9th posistion, it was an improvment on the dnf from the May Oulton Park round where the rear shock over heated, Cadwell park is the next round for Joel but it is undecided which championship he will be in, most probable is the junior superstock on the Suzuki GSXR600K7 as usual, but there is a small chance of him having a go on a Superstock 1000 bike, but all this is still uncertain, in the mean time we’ll keep you posted.

The Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup was a very competitive series for Joel, he often had top ten finishes but a huge crash in Oulton Park mid season on his test bike ment a1 was out of finance to fund joels racing in the R6 Cup. The test bike was completely destroyed and rebuilding the bike took months to complete and was to late to continue R6 Cup racing.
